Privacy

Last updated: 10 May 2026 (added Google Analytics disclosure)

This page explains exactly what Lens stores about you, why, and how to remove it. Lens is operated by Anish Kumar PV (AMFI ARN 329356) under the GrowingWithAK brand. We aim to comply with the Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023 (DPDP) and have designed Lens to collect as little as possible.

What we store

  • An anonymous cookie identifier (lens_uid), a random string with no link to your identity. Without this we have no way to find your portfolio.
  • Your portfolio composition — fund scheme codes and rupee values you enter on the Portfolio page. Keyed only to the cookie above.
  • Optional notes if you type any in the portfolio interface. These are stored as you wrote them; we do not extract identifiers from them.
  • Standard web server logs — IP address, user agent, timestamp, URL — kept by the web server for security and abuse mitigation. These are not joined to your portfolio.

What we do not store

  • No name, email, phone number, postal address, date of birth.
  • No PAN, Aadhaar, KYC documents, or any government identifiers.
  • No bank account, broker account, demat number, folio number, or transaction history.
  • No password — Lens has no login.
  • No payment data — Lens is free.
  • No advertising pixels or remarketing tags.

Analytics

Lens uses Google Analytics 4 (measurement ID G-6J4KQNRZ8T) to count visits and understand which features are used. We have IP-anonymisation enabled (anonymize_ip: true) so the last octet of your IP is dropped before storage. Google Analytics sets its own first-party cookies (_ga, _ga_*) on your browser and processes data on Google's infrastructure under Google's privacy policy. Lens does not link Analytics data to your saved portfolio. To opt out, install Google's opt-out browser add-on or use a browser that blocks Analytics by default. Admin pages under /x/* are not tracked.

Where it lives

On a single server in India operated by host.co.in. Data is not shared with, sold to, or transmitted to any third party. Lens does not embed external advertising or analytics on its public pages.

Your rights under the DPDP Act

  • Right to erasure. The Portfolio page has a "Purge all my data" button. Clicking it deletes every database row keyed to your cookie and rotates the cookie itself.
  • Right of access. Whatever Lens has about you is exactly what the Portfolio page shows you when you visit. There is no other view.
  • Right to correction. You can edit each holding's value inline, or delete it, on the Portfolio page.
  • Right to withdraw consent. Stop using Lens and clear your cookies. Then exercise erasure as above to remove any saved portfolio.

Cookies

Lens sets one first-party cookie itself (lens_uid) so the server can find the portfolio you saved. It is not used for tracking, profiling or advertising — clearing it just loses access to a saved portfolio. Google Analytics additionally sets _ga and _ga_* cookies (typical 2-year lifetime, set and read by Google) for the analytics described above. We do not set any other cookies.

Retention

Portfolios are retained until you erase them. Web-server access logs roll off on a 90-day window; admin-mode logs (used for tool security review) are retained for 365 days then purged.

Children

Lens is not directed at users under 18. We do not knowingly collect data from minors.
